Standing up for recreational fishers in the sounds

10% of New Zealand’s coastline resides in the Marlborough sounds. We are a non-profit organisation that stands up for all recreational fishers and ensures the perpetual abundance of marine animals in the sounds.

Only widespread public support and awareness of policy will ensure longevity of recreational fishing and minimise environmental impacts of fishing

– Marlborough Recreational Fishers Association (MRFA)

MRFA keeps an eye on marine issues on behalf of the public and submit to local council, government organisations and ministries to ensure recreational fishers are heard.

We’ve done it before & We’ll do it again.

Our committee members bring years of experience, both scientific and legal to ensure that recreational fishing is an enjoyable experience for every individual and family.
